All his models are custom made as ordered and painted if you like, ready to hit the table top.
Here are some photos of the force so far.
The figures are all from Skirmish Sangin. http://www.skirmishsangin.com/shop/
I do have the Empress modern Australians but they are off being painted to add to this force.
Photos will go up when they're ready.
They are all painted up in the jelly bean AUSCAM rather than the new CRYE PRECISION AUSCAM (Australian version of the MULTICAM) that is being phased in. That way I can also use them for Afghan Ops.

Pretty damn cool. Are you planning on painting some up in AUSCAM also?
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteThis is the AUSCAM.If you mean the new CRYE PRECISION AUSCAM, no as I want to use these guys for Afghan games as well. The new AUSCAM is still being rold out and is in use with units curently deployed in Iraq. The new Cam uses the same colours with the Multicam pattern that is being used by the UK and US.
Here is an image of the new AUSCAM(top) next to the MULTICAM(middle) and the Jellybean AUSCAM(bottom).

Sorry I used the wrong term. I saw quit a pit of the old style when I was in Iraq. But I understand why every one is changing up.
DeleteYou would have seen the Aussies wearing the Desert Auscam in Iraq.

This was issued to all forces in Middle East Ops.
However, whilst in Afghanistan's Green area they found it was better to use the standerd issue Auscam.
The SF guys started to wear the Multicam same as the US and UK. Then from 2011 all forces deployed to Afghanistan were issued the Multicam.
As of present the idea has been to keep the AUSCAM colours for the new Cam pattern (CRYE PRECISION AUSCAM) as it would stand out as Australian.
The Air Force have a new cam as well based on the Multicam pattern.

Thanks, I saw guys wearing both the desert and green pattern from time to time.
DeleteMost of my contact with them was when we went to the Air Base to reapply.
Can not say I am fan of the Air Force and navy pattern. But I guess it works for them. (not really a fan of the US Air Forces or navies current pattern honestly)
Just happy the army is finally ditching the digital pattern so at least that is something.
The Airforce also keeps a set of the normal Auscam to be worn when required.
DeleteThe Navy Clearence Divers, similar to the US SEAL's also wear the same as the Army SF guys when require. The Navy Cam does work well if you look at some of the links below.
